Time Out Corner

Charmaine is especially hard to handle recently and meal time always ended up in sending her to time out corner.

She plays with food, refuse to feed herself and insisted I feed her, eats slowly when she dislikes the food, scratch Charlotte, box Charlotte, screams at slightest thing regardless happy or angry etc

Argh... Haven't reach three, already showing Terrible Three symptoms?

The Real Thing - Ice Skating

Charlotte showed me the recipe book borrowed from Library and suggested that we go to buy the ingredients together early Saturday morning (Hubby and myself went for a little me-time and we caught total 51 prawns yay!).

Feeling a little guilty when Charlotte asked why we didn't bring her for prawning yesterday, I agreed that we should do some baking but I will buy the ingredients myself as I do not want to waste time haggling whether should we or should we not buy the Princess bowl or water bottle.

We did a non-bake-needed-super-chewy-sweet-peanut-butter cookie. This recipe isn't really healthy at all!

Ingredients: -
Update later :D

I cooked Charmaine's favorite tomato pasta with meat ball and mushroom. She self fed and finish everything (had 2nd serving) within 15 mins. No screamy Mummy, no timeout corners, no calling of Daddy and no accidentally spilled food for Kozer!

We went The Rink @ Jcube for ice skating but it was closed for sports event. Luckily Hubby is willing to drive all the way to Kallang Leisure Park to avoid disappoint for Charlotte.

We spent a total of $40+ for 1A and 1C skater with 2A viewer, without socks for both and gloves for Hubby. I fin it worthwhile cos I get to enjoy the coldness while seeing Charlotte's first skating experience.

Kallang Ice World does not have penguins like The Rink but they have this metal pole that is free unlike penguins that costs $10 for 2 hours usage.

Charlotte cried the first round and we laughed at her thereafter especially when she proudly coaxed my helper into ice skating saying how easy it was and told her not to be afraid etc.

After second round, she refused to rest even Hubby was exhausted. He had to hold onto her while skating with the help of the poles. Hence the face of exhaustion on the photos below.

I love the whole experience and will want to try if Charmaine allows me to be out of her sight for a while.

It reminded my 1st ice skating experience with Adel when I was at my 20s. Oh my that was 10+ years ago...

Homely Sunday

The weather is awesome!

After the tiring episode yesterday, Hubby decided that he needs to rest at home today.

I woke up early and escape to the market before Charmaine wakes up shadowing me.

We made homemade cheat pizza for lunch today. Cheat because I used flattened pandan bread and tomato ketchup. I asked if the kids wanted to help and they end up only flattening the bread and spreading ketchup. I refused to let them put cheese and hotdogs cos they kept popping it into their mouths.

Dinner was baked chicken drums, breaded fish without chips, coleslaw, baked potatoes with cheese, mayo & hotdogs and mushroom soup. All homemade except mushroom soup from Campbell - roasted garlic mushroom soup rocks with milk instead of water rocks!

We ended our Sunday with watching Narnia on TV. A well rested Sunday.

Unhelpful Men!

This is negative, I know but heck!

I am really pissed.

I can't and don't understand why mothers have to go through much more things than fathers and make more decisions too.

I have to decide on extra lessons for Chars when Hubby just say, I really don't know what is good for our children. Just let Charmaine learn what Charlotte did at the exact same age *rolling eyes n water partial boiling already* so that in future they won't blame us for being unfair *so old school like what my mum said* I want to give them the best but I don't know what should I do? *in my mind... just continue to wait and answers will drop from sky*

At that point I just told him to shut up and sleep. I can't be bothered talking anymore. We had discussed this too many times. I needed help and he is never helping so I decided I will search for help myself.

Though I am pissed, I felt that a part of what he said is true... on the fairness part but different kids are meant for different things and us being parents, we are supposed to find the potential out from our children and not just sit like a couch potato. Can't he just google or go to kiasu parents etc webby to check or read up? He don't remember that I am a 10 hours-each-day-at-least-working-mother?

Russia Ice Skating at Changi Airport

We were at Changi airport last Sunday, having the intention to use our Singkids voucher. I accidentally found out that there was this Russia corner where everyone gets to test out fake ice skating when you spend $40 in a single receipt.

We deposited the kids inside Singkids and went for coffee as I need a break real badly after the many volcano eruptions with my helper in the morning that made me nearly sent her back to agency. After the eruptions, I found out she had a handphone.

But I was pretty cool about this. I asked where she gotten it as the previous helper gave me the same surprise. Anyway I confiscated it and told her to tell her friend to come and see me to get it back. Maids are full of problems - that is from my experience after 2 encounters.

Back to the ice skating. We were at Jcube on Saturday and Charlotte wanted to ice skate just because she felt that the penguin was cute. But as we were not dressed correctly for ice skating we managed to coax her out of it. This fake ice skating came right in time!

She was very proud after the skating cos Hubby though could roller blade, did not skate that well. She told Hubby, "Daddy don't be scared. It is just like walking".

She was on 2 rollers, designed for kids her age as there wasn't anything she could fit in whereas Hubby had the real thing on his foot.

They both had great time!

Charmaine was screaming away wanting to follow Charlotte.

I discovered that Charmaine loves macaroni pasta. She finished a whole plate by herself.

Science Centre on 6 April 2013

Took the longest journey to Chinese Garden MRT stop to visit Science Centre as it was Charlotte's ballet term break. Our previous visit was unfulfilling and this wasn't satisfied either. Luck wasn't on our side. It was raining and we did mot managed to play at the waterworks. The kids were so disappointed.

Luckily, we managed to watch few shows - fire, balloon and airplane.

We headed to Jcube to meet Hubby when Science Centre was closing. I was robbed by Charlotte while walking around in the mall. She bought a pair of $40 platform and insisted that she wants to go for ice skating because if the cutie penguin.

Traveling is real tiring especially with kids. These 2 noisy kids are more than a handful to deal with and those irritating onlookers in the train are such a bother!

I zonked out on the way back in cab and fell onto my bed till next morning.

Initially, I was hopeful and confident that we will be able to take MRT home.

Think I need to give Jurong Bird Park and Zoo for a miss until I recuperate or at least... H1N5 cleared first.

More of ballet grading on 2 April 2013...
