Chill Out with Colleagues

Hubby put me aeroplane (we had a date and planned to watch GI Joe) and went to tnn with his client at Geylang!

Nonetheless I have good colleagues who don't mind that I joined them in the end (I cancelled appointment with them to accompany Hubby).

We celebrated Carine's birthday as well.

I had a great time at Brussels Sprouts. The lobster ... mussels is yummy! Chicken wings, pasta, grilled portobello are all fingers licking good too.

I enjoyed working in this company and with these colleagues around... though sometimes work is really hard and tiring :)

Work satisfaction is there!

K2 Homework

Wah.

This is something I do when I was in Primary School!

"Baking Cakes" at a No Entry Zone

There is Charmaine "baking her cake" and no one is allowed to get near her!

Warning: Poisonous Gas will be Emitted from time-to-time!!!

Charlotte: Butter Cookies for my Friends

Charlotte forced me to make the dough while she shaped out the cookies with little help from helper.

Charlotte: Mummy I need to make a lot of cookies for my friends and bring to cc on Monday. I can help you!

Mummy: ...... but there are hot cross buns.

Charlotte: I will bring both so make more buns too!

Mummy: *rolled eyes

Charlotte's One Night without Us

Yesterday, Charlotte was at Nanny's place for a night. She specially planned this night few days ago when ah gong fetch her home (always ended up in Nanny's house) cos Hubby was late to fetch her from cc.

She made a pact with Nanny's daughter and planned the timetable - breakfast at McDonald's, library, playground etc

She is so smart but I can't help thinking... If she runs away from home in future, will she go to Nanny's place?

Hot Cross (Chocolate) Buns!

Hot cross buns!
Hot cross buns!
One ha' penny, two ha' penny,
Hot cross buns!
If you have no daughters,
Give them to your sons
One ha' penny,
Two ha' penny,
Hot Cross Buns!

Do you know why and when we eat them?

I am no Christian but finds it fun to bake hot cross buns hence tried it out.

Hot Cross (Chocolate) Buns Recipe:-

10g yeast
150ml warm water
45g caster sugar
275g plain flour
1 egg (remember to use the shell to paint Easter eggs!)
1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
50g butter, softened
80g chocolate chips (keep in fridge first)

Flour paste (for the cross) -
45g plain flour (add more if you find it too watery I add about 55g to make it stickier)
15g caster sugar
15ml water

Syrup Glaze (to brush on buns when it is hot out from oven)-
15g caster sugar
10ml hot water

Step 1 -
Stir yeast with warm water and let it settle for few minutes while preparing rest of ingredients

Step 2 -
Add flour, sugar, cinnamon, egg, butter and stir with a spoon, making sure it is soft after 3 minutes

Step 3 -
Cling wrap bowl where dough is, for at least 1 hour (dough will be doubled sized by then) and add in chocolate chips taken from the fridge right before you intend to scoop into rounds and place on lined baking tray (this prevents the chocolate chips from melting giving you swirled looking hot cross buns)

Step 4 -
After placing rounded dough on baking tray, pour flour paste into a zip lock bag, snip off 1 corner and draw a cross on each bun, leave it to set for 15 mins

Step 5 -
Preheat oven for 2 mins at 170deg and place dough
in oven for 25 mins at 170deg

Step 6 -
Use brush (I use spoon) to brush glaze over hot buns when it is just out from oven then leave it to cool

Best eaten while hot!

I like mine with butter n a cuppa tea *yums

Rain rain go away...

Weather wasn't kind to us last Saturday. When we reached Jacob Ballas Garden, it was pouring and it went on and off few times with thunder. Hence we decided to change location after our McDonald's lunch.

We took circle line to AMK Hub - circle line is confusing but convenient. We reached within minutes. I don't know how to survive with 4 kids making loads of noise in the train - most was generated by Charlotte. We head to Kids Explorer again to burn the energy out of these children. It's $35 for 2 adults and 2 children unlimited play. Yay!

This branch is better. It's a 3 level play area with ball shooting machine. I had fun making Charlotte collecting the balls for me to shoot. There are kids who actually gave me their balls when i had used up mine an Charlotte refuse to replenish for me. So sweet. Unlike my girl! She made me pretend eat the balls - red is apple, pink is strawberry etc.

Though we don't bear to leave the children there alone, we had a little coffee break cos Angel's fil seems bored. He is so humble.

With the cousin's company, Charlotte & Charmaine had a great time. Hubby sat at a corner playing with his hp again when he was being rejected to enter jackpot room with my ntuc card. Yes! Haha.

When Angel left after dinner, we allow the kids to play until Kids Explorer close and I did a little shopping buying shoes for Hubby. It's a tiring but fulfilling day.

Oh we also participate in Earth Hour - switching off lights at home cos we are not at home and Kids Explorer turned off half of the lights. Just kidding lah.

Expensive Indoor Playgrounds

It's been a while since we last visit Kids Explorer. It's freaking expensive at $22 per entry as public. Charlotte is a member hence it's $15 per hour. End up I have to sign Charmaine as a member as well for $15 membership till 12 years old and $15 for per hour entry.

In earth it's all about $$$!

But despite all the grumblings, I still grabbed Singkids Playground and Kidzgo Playhouse vouchers from deal.com.sg and groupon respectively since its below $10 each. The deal at Kidzgo Playhouse is for unlimited play - sold out!

http://www.deal.com.sg/deals/singapore/Unlimited-Fun-at-Singkids-from-Only-S9-90-Choose-Between-Weekdays-OR-Weekends

Yay! Great buy!

Poor people like me really need deals like such. Otherwise we have no where to go when it is raining and when Hubby refuse to think of where to go.

I am pretty upset that Hubby. He left kids with maid and sat at a corner enjoying the foot massager and watching his Japanese animations on mobile. It's family time and our kids do not belong to our maid.

Isn't it simple to understand?

Are all guys like that?!

P.s: I nearly die climbing up the playground...

One-to-One Time with Darling

Had some one-to-one time with my first born today by fetching her from Childcare to ballet and dinner at McDonalds.

I can't help but feel that Children are actually happy with little things. In this case, daddy has been fetching Charlotte to and fro from Childcare since I switched job. It's the first time since the past 3 months that I fetch her to ballet today. She happily ran to bear hug me and was screaming to everyone that "Yay! My mummy is here!"

People always say... Firstborn is different. How different? Cos she is the one who makes me experience all my first times... *super hearts

Hoardings Collapses at Millenia Walk

It's in the papers that the hoardings in Millenia Walk collapses.

Felt a little angered after reading the write out in TNP. "... shouted at a Customer Service Officer, demanding to speak to the Building's Management team. The officer told him that they had been notified and were on their way..." "Mr Ng said he and his family waited for 10 minutes, but no one showed up."

Hello... It's 3.30pm on a Saturday. Management no need to rest? Management also human leh. Customer Service Officer also human leh.

What a Friday!

We planned to "escape" to Kranji for prawning since we have vehicle for this weekend but I was too tired and slept till 1am, woke up by the noise made by Charmaine, check on her and found out she is having a 40degc fever.

Now Charmaine' fever still haunting her.
