‘My Children Mean Everything To Me'

I won’t always cry, Mummy,
When you leave the room,
and my supermarket tantrums,
Will end too soon.

I won’t always wake, Daddy,
For cuddles through the night,
and one day you will miss,
Having a chocolate face to wipe.

You won’t always wake to find my foot,
Is kicking you out of bed,
Or find me sideways on your pillow,
where you want to lay your head.

You won’t always have to carry me,
In asleep from the car,
Or piggy back me down the road,
When my little legs can’t walk that far.

So cherish every cuddle, remember them all,
One day Mummy, I won’t be this small.

Obsession with Soups

I always ensures that my kids have soup for all dinners but with this new helper and her "cannot be described" cooking skills, recipe books really comes into good use...

I bought bilingual ones as I am lazy to go bigger bookstores to hunt for Chinese recipe in Bahasa Indonesian and used google translator to help to teach her.

So far her ABC soup and lotus root pork ribs soup not too bad - fingers crossed. Other dishes like ladyfingers in belacan and fish fritters not too bad too.

This is the book that I am using... Almost bought the whole series!

Head Lice - continued

Just found out that head lice can be treated with white vinegar and the hair lotion - to wet whole head of hair with it and let it dry naturally (I felt use towel to wrap around ensures that the heat maximize the effect, just like how hair treatment works), can be purchased off the shelves in pharmacies.

Didn't know that head lice is common until the hair lotion went out of stock in the clinic and the pharmacy near my house.

Anyway, so far both heads are cured. So far...

It's time to use cheaper and readily available method - vinegar!

Head Lice

I had never seen a head lice in my thirty over years of living until yesterday night.

Argh it's so frustrating. I found loads of head lice on my helper's hair!

I really ought to thank Charmaine's teacher for informing us that she suspects that there is head lice on Charmaine. Hope teacher forgives my arrogant hubby who insisted its not life and death issue that summons us to fetch Charmaine back immediately from Childcare. I stressed to him it's social responsibility and he won't want the whole Childcare to have head lice epidemic right after the hfmd spread esp with our darling labelled as the culprit.

Before seeing Dr Tay, I told my helper that I would shave her botak and that is the only treatment i knew for head lice since our Primary School days but Dr Tay gave me a bottle of nice smelling hair lotion (not that I envy their chance to try though) to apply on both heads. I even applied on Charlotte's hair just to play safe.

Not that I want to grumble... Helper are supposed to help out in the house but with all these including her lack of knowledge, poor English, inability to coax my children, inedible cooking, poor hygiene standards etc etc it's driving me nuts. REALLY NUTS!
